Initiatives that BIC has been involved in
1. BIC staff participated at a fund-raising walk
True to its commitments to the community the BIC staff went once again and held a fund-raising walk to support the Cancer Association of Botswana. The fund-raising walk took place in Lobatse and generated the much needed help to the association.
2. BIC gives back to the community
BIC staff’s charity committee members donated clothes and toys for children who are resident at the Child line premises. The committee members spent the whole afternoon with the children and enjoyed snacks prepared by the resident children. The Coordinator of Child line Botswana Mareile Kroening expressed the organization and the children’s gratitude at the gesture. The committee thanks the staff for their contributions in making the day possible and making a memorable Christmas for the children. It was a great day!
3. BIC gives a helping hand to sports development.
BIC contributed towards the development of sports facilities for the South East Sports Association for the Disabled.
4. BIC sponsors the Red Cross
The Botswana Red Cross society had an 80kilometre midnight sponsored walk on Saturday 4th March 6pm to 6am on Sunday 5th March 2006. The walk started from Botswana Red Cross Headquarters situated at plot number 135 Independence Avenue to Rasesa and back. The theme of the walk was Botswana Red Cross, Torch Bearers illuminating the path towards 2016, with compassion and care of and for the vulnerable.
5. BIC has made various once off and annual sponsorships to Kalahari Conservation Society, Mmokolodi nature reserve, Botswana society of the arts, BSPCA, Child line, Life line Botswana and the SOS children’s village in Serowe.
