Our insurance policies protect people from the ever present dangers in our society today like theft, malicious damage, accidental damage, fire damage, flood damage, lightning damage, wind storm damage, machinery breakdown, loss of profits, legal liability and so forth. Our agents also help clients submit claims and provide general advice about risk management.

Agents are paid a standard commission that is a percentage of the total annual premium of the policies handled by the agent. The commission percentage varies but is usually between 12.5% and 20% of the annual premium depending upon the type of policy handled. The commission is paid annually (or monthly in some cases) on renewal of the policy and continues for as long as the policy continues to be renewed. There is no limit to the number of policies an agent can handle. BIC's agents also get assistance with training in order for them to be able to speak to clients with confidence about our insurance policies. Agents also get assistance with marketing materials, statutory registration, etc.

In order to become an agent, an individual or company needs to be registered with the Non Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority. BIC will assist agents with this process. Individuals wishing to become agents will also need to take and pass the Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in short term insurance. BIC will assist agents pass this mandatory exam. Other than the COP, an agent does not need to have any specific educational qualification such as a degree. An agent, however, needs to be dynamic, self motivated, enthusiastic.
