SUSPENSION OF OMEGA INSURANCE BROKERS (PTY) LTD BY THE NON BANK FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS REGULATORY AUTHORITY (NBFIRA)
It is with regret that we have to inform you that with effect from 4 November 2009, Omega Insurance Brokers (Pty) Ltd. have had their broking license suspended by the NBFIRA and are not allowed to transact any insurance business. Therefore Botswana Insurance Company Limited (BIC), your insurer of first choice, can no longer conduct business with Omega Insurance Brokers (Pty) Ltd. BIC would, however, like to assure you of our continued support and service.

The NBFIRA advises all clients of Omega Insurance Brokers (Pty) Ltd. to pay their premiums directly to their insurer and to submit claims directly to their insurer. If your premium has not been paid, please submit the payment directly to BIC with immediate effect to ensure that your cover does not lapse. If you have already remitted premiums to Omega Insurance Brokers (Pty) Ltd. we strongly advise that you confirm that the funds were remitted to BIC as soon as possible by calling Salome Kube at 3600551 or by emailing salome.kube@bic.co.bw. at our Gaborone Head office or Tholwana Masita at 2413623 or e-mail tholwana.masita@bic.co.bw at our Francistown branch.

Termination of Agency Agreement – Desert Hawk Enterprises (Pty) Ltd.
Please note that Desert Hawk Enterprises (Pty) Ltd is no longer an agent of Botswana Insurance Company Limited, with effect from 1st January 2009. This is due to the principal of Desert Hawk Enterprises (Pty) Ltd pursuing other interests.

NOTICE To all Policyholders
Notice is hereby given to all holders of Mosele Legal Services policies which are currently underwritten by Botswana Insurance Company Limited that with effect from 19 July 2008, the agency agreement between Botswana Insurance Company Limited and Wildcard Enterprises (Pty) Limited t/a Mosele Legal Services will come to an end.

This means that with effect from that date Mosele Legal Services will not be allowed to act as an agent of or to transact any business underwritten by or on behalf of the Botswana Insurance Company.

Important Notice to all Mosele Legal Services Clients
Botswana Insurance Company Limited (BIC), the Insures of First Choice, wishes to inform all its holders of legal insurance policies marketed through Wildcard Enterprises (PTY) LTD t/a Mosele Legal Services of a High Court Order which has been published in local newspapers.

In a bid to protect its policy holders, BIC approached the High Court and were granted orders, amongst others, to conduct an audit on the operations of Mosele Legal Services.

All policy holders of Mosele Legal Services are reminded that their legal insurance policies are underwritten by BIC, the Insures of first Choice for more that 30 years, and therefore ALL valid claims under these policies shall continue to be honoured.

Deeds of Surety, Performance Bonds and Payment Guarantees
Please be advised that Botswana Insurance Company Limited (BIC) discontinued its service of issuing the above in June 2006.

All holders of Deeds of Surety, Performance Bonds and/or Payment Guarantees issued by BIC are advised to contact the Risk and Legal Advisor at BIC (Tel. 3600552, BIC House, Plot 50362, Fairgrounds, Gaborone) as soon as possible to verify the authenticity of any such documents still in their possession.

Please note that this process is very important as BIC will not be liable for any such documents found to be invalid.
